Shrimpy will require a paid subscription starting October 10th
Shrimpy will require a $19 monthly subscription starting on October 10th.
After careful consideration, our team has decided to migrate Shrimpy to a paid-only service. This was not an easy decision for us to make. While we all loved the idea of keeping Shrimpy free, we now understand the best way forward is to become a paid-only application.
By switching to a paid-only service, our team will have the opportunity to aggressively improve the application by hiring more developers, focusing on exciting features, and more personalized experiences.
We understand there are users who won't be able to afford the higher cost of Shrimpy, and for this, we are deeply saddened. Each person who has joined us on our journey so far has helped Shrimpy grow into the amazing service it is today. For that, we are grateful.
Pricing Updates
Shrimpy will require every user to have a paid subscription by October 10th at 10 am PDT. Failing to subscribe will result in the disabling of all trading activity on your Shrimpy account. Existing users with premium subscriptions don't need to make any changes to their account.
The new pricing plans start at $13/mo for annual subscriptions ($19/mo for monthly). However, you have the chance to lock in a subscription with our old pricing of $8.99 per month if you upgrade before October 10th.
Upgrading your account will give you access to everything Shrimpy has to offer. That includes all of the premium trading features along with the social, backtesting, and API features.
FAQ
What is the new pricing?
The new pricing starts at $13/mo when billed annually and goes up to $19/mo when billed monthly. Read more about the new pricing tiers here.
Is there a separate cost for the features which were previously “premium”?
No, we only have one subscription plan which gives you access to everything Shrimpy has to offer.
What if I wait to subscribe after October 10th?
You can still subscribe at any point after October 10th, but it will be at the new pricing which starts at $13/mo for annual subscriptions ($19/mo for monthly).
What if I already have a premium subscription?
There is nothing for you to do. Continue enjoying Shrimpy as usual. Your account has already been locked in for the lower price of $8.99.
What happens if I have the lower price subscription but cancel my subscription after October 10?
You can cancel your subscription at any time, but when you resubscribe after October 10th it will require the selection of a pricing plan which uses the new pricing of $13/mo for annual subscriptions ($19/mo for monthly). The only way to keep your low $8.99 price is to not cancel your subscription and continue the automated renewal each month.
Why are you increasing the price?
Transitioning Shrimpy to a paid-only service will allow us to hire more developers, rapidly develop new features, and provide the individual support our users deserve.
